The original is oil painting on canvas. Driving to the airport in Patagonia, Chile, the sun came up behind the famous five mountains. I interpreted that scene as an abstract, using smooth brushstrokes and textured palette knife strokes for variety. Distant Journey Revisited depicts a later time of day, where shadows and contrasts are different. Sections of this painting are brighter and bolder than the light of the morning sunrise.
