BMW updated the spring plate to a thicker material, which was designed to help reduce noise and improve performance compared to the thinner spring plates. These are located inside the camshaft drive hubs, and can be easily replaced when installing the vanos. Sold in sets of 2 (enough for 1 S54 engine)
