Davia (They/Them)Grade 9, Galileo High SchoolShroom-DoomSharpie and Watercolor on paper11x142022$75 This piece was made with awareness towards the contrast between the mushrooms and the kid in the middle. As you can see the kid is drawn a lot smaller with a thin pen rather than the thick sharpie I used on the mushrooms. Another thing you may have noticed is the stippling for shading on the mushrooms unlike the shading lines on the kid. All of this contrast was meant to show a sense of not belonging. The way that the mushrooms curve inward and overlap show a feeling of overwhelmingness. Really it was a reflection of my emotions and fears.
