Dance First Think Later — The Thinking Body Between Dance and Visual Arts: Vol. 1
This book documents Dance First Think Later, an innovative exhibition-festival that brought together 22 international artists working at the intersection of dance, performance, visual art, and moving image. Held in Geneva in 2020, the event blurred disciplinary lines and challenged conventional formats of presentation and curation. Richly illustrated and accompanied by newly commissioned essays, the publication expands on the project’s critical and historical dimensions, offering insight into a growing field of hybrid practices. Organized by Arta Sperto, the project—and this book—advocates for a cross-disciplinary cultural landscape, where artists working across media are supported rather than siloed. An essential resource for anyone interested in performance, visual culture, and the shifting boundaries of contemporary art. With contributions from Halil Altindere, Alexandra Bachzetsis & Julia Born, Pauline Boudry & Renate Lorenz, Alex Cecchetti, Clément Cogitore, Dara Friedman,
