This product is a lower cost, yet more durable and high quality replacement for the original universal shoe mount. Like the original, it is not a “hot” shoe. Accessories can be mounted just like they were with the original mount. FX1-FLAT is intended for Sony’s HDR-FX1 and HVR-Z1 (HVR-Z1U, HVR-Z1E, etc.) series cameras. The FX1-FLAT is also known to be compatible with the Sony DSR-450.  Other Sony professional cameras with a threaded hole and side rails should work, it looks like a camera shoe upside down with a threaded hole in the middle.  Please contact DM-Accessories for more information. This adapter is made from a single piece of aluminum, powder coated satin black, and includes a stainless steel captive screw. A coin or a manual flat head screwdriver is recommended for installing or removing this adapter.
