It was produced by Tommykaira, a Japanese tuning company that specialized in modifying Nissan cars. The R-z Red features a number of enhancements over the standard R34, such as a more aggressive body kit, a carbon fiber hood, a titanium exhaust system, and a revised suspension. The engine was also upgraded to produce 542 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque, making it one of the fastest R34s ever made. Only 100 units of the R-z Red were built, and they are considered to be collector's items by enthusiasts.
