One of a Kind Shakyamuni Buddha Hand Painted Statue

This Shakyamuni Buddha is carved entirely by hand and then cast using the lost wax method in the Kathmandu Valley. Over 8 artists work on each of these statues, carving, making wax molds, pouring hot bronze, painting the gold faces and eyes and hand painting them. Meenu Shakya, a master artisan, did all the finishing painting work.  It takes her months t o complete a statue with such intricate details. The Shakyamuni Buddha was a spiritual master who lived and taught in modern day India and Nepal.  Shakyamuni taught others to be awakened to the true nature of reality and freed from suffering. Measures approximately 9 inches tall.
