Our antique temple locks were found in the markets in the Ladakh region of India! These fascinating locks have a rich history, believed to have originated in China, and traveled through the Silk Route to reach their current location. One of the Padlocks makes one take a step back in time with this unique and intricately crafted Tibetan padlock from the 19th century. This functional lock is cast in high-relief, depicting Jetsun Dölma - also known as White Tara - seated on her lotus throne with an abhaya mudra gesture of protection adorning one hand plus eyes to see all suffering gracing 3 parts of her being (forehead, palms & soles). Showcasing a beautiful patina due to slight oxidation over the years, so you can admire not only its functionality but bodhisattva beauty too! The second padlock has a mythological figure to ward of evil. Made from brass, these locks are not only functional but also have religious significance. The back of the locks even have a prayer wheel with Buddhi
