The original AiM SmartyCam (2009-2013) and SmartyCam HD V 2 / SmartyCam HD GP all have an internal microphone for great racing sound, but it does limit your sound options. This special cable has a 3.5mm mono jack for an external microphone. The input from this jack automatically mixes with the sound from the SmartyCam internal microphone.
