Portrait is signed by Lewin, with middle initial monogram, and date, on a pastel gouache. Female portrait in dark up do brown hair, visibly shaded face. She is wearing a light grey dress with green trimming, of velvet fabric. designed with pink bow, her long neck is decorated in gold necklace over her décolleté dress. a silver bracelet on her wrist, and two gold rings on her fingers. her hand is laying on a mahogany arm chair posing for photographer (painter) to create her image. women, unable to identify if married as her other hand is covered, in decorated sleeve, and scripted signature. painted, in pencil crayons, on a paper with brown background. The entire signature is hard to identify. as it seems, signed by G L Lewin, dated 1848. scripted i light grey pencil on the lower right (images).
