Candin (Candidin) for Verruca Vulgaris Candin (often referred to as Candidin) is a medication used as immunotherapy for patients with numerous verruca vulgaris (common warts) lesions and/or those who cannot undergo destructive methods like cryotherapy (freezing) or burning for various reasons. How Candin Works (Immunotherapy for Warts): Candin contains antigens derived from Candida albicans, a common yeast. When injected intradermally (into the skin), it triggers an immune response in the body. This response helps the body recognize and fight the wart virus (human papillomavirus or HPV), leading to the resolution of the warts. Side Effects of Candin: Local Reactions: Pain, redness, swelling, itching, and a burning sensation at the injection site are common. These are usually mild and resolve on their own.
