BEAR WALLOW CAMC314594   20.66 Acre Lode Mining Claim in the Historic Ivanpah District, San Bernardino County, CA This site is pretty extensive – a LOT of work was done here in the day. Close to the historic Mohawk Mine and the Copper World Mine, production must have been good. You’ll see in the pictures that there is an old ore chute still onsite, as well as several mines – one with extensive stoping, and one that is almost vertical and pretty deep, which we did not descend into, so not sure how extensive it is. Based on the amount of rick looking tailings here, a lot of good ore was pulled out, and a lot more remains to be worked. You could spend a year just going through the existing ore alone before you even touched the mines. All of the timber onsite is still in surprisingly good shape, and the mines still look solid.
