ACE OF SPADES Lode Mining Claim, Sylvania, Esmeralda County, Nevada

ACE OF SPADES NMC1144470 Very secluded, probably 1920’s-1930’s mine shaft. Head frame is still intact, about 35 feet tall with an integrated ore chute. The shaft is 56 feet deep and is collared although there has been some erosion, the wood is still in pretty good shape. The ladder that descends may not be too trustworthy, it’s suggested to rope-up first and tie off to a secure anchor point. At the 56 foot level, the mine levels out and heads north east. Looks like a good 5-6 foot tall tunnel heading north east. Definitely a hidden, secluded mine. It looks like it was wired for electricity at one time, fairly large amount of tailings and relics; some old cans and things around. Probably some fairly extensive workings underground. The gold and silver readings are good, about 1oz/ton on silver and about 2/3 an ounce on gold from the rock at the surface on the vein that was cut into.
