Classic Mineral Amethyst Stalactite

The best quality amethyst stalactites come from Uruguay, are found underground, and are volcanic in origin. The combination of both amethyst and stalactites is very rare and found in only a few places in the world. They have a core of interestingly shaped, colored agate surrounded by crystalline quartz in varied hues of colors. This flower slice is a nicely banded cross-section of an amethyst stalactite exposing agate in green shades and a delight of lilac crystal peaks.   Images display both sides.
