To remove anybody oils or lotions that may have gotten on the jewelry. We do not recommend working out in gold plated jewelry. Body sweat May compromise the plating. When storing the jewelry we recommend a ziplock bag preventing exposure to air. Doing what you can to protect the plating of the jewelry will extend the life of the jewelry.
