Megalodon, meaning "big tooth" is an extinct species of shark that lived millions of years ago.  While regarded as one of the largest and most powerful predators to have ever lived, megalodon is known from fragmentary remains and its appearance and maximum size are uncertain. Scientists believe it resembled a stockier version of the great white shark. Antique brass pendant is 1 1/2" long and the brass chain is 26" long.   Jewelry casting is a process of making jewelry pieces that involves the pouring of liquid metal alloy into a mold. It is usually referred to as lost-wax casting because the casting mold is created using a wax model that is melted away to leave a hollow chamber in the middle of the mold. The technique has been used for thousands of years.  Heather Wright has used the method to make our exclusive Thai Belt collection of unique pendant necklaces.
