This painting pulls from Edward Hopper's "Nighthawks," a commentary on isolation and alienation. In the show Loki, he makes the confession that deep down he's fueled by one desire: "I don't want to be alone." This struck a chord with me as an adoptive father, as Loki is adopted by Odin in Norse mythology. So, naturally, I decided to drop him in at the bar in Nighthawks. Scan of an original painting by Justin White Art.
