Kirtland's Warbler and Jack Pine Print

This watercolor illustration of Kirtland's warblers depicts jack pine, as well as the eastern pine elfin butterfly and the purplish gray moth. Kirtland's warblers nest exclusively in young jack pine forest, primarily in Northern Michigan, and also Wisconsin and Ontario.  In the mid-20th century, habitat loss and brood parasitism endangered Kirtland's warblers. In 1973, government agencies partnered with private interests and organizations to establish a Kirtland's warbler recovery plan, and after decades of collaborative conservation efforts, Kirtland's warblers have positively increased. They were delisted from the Endangered Species Act in 2019. This limited edition print is available in 3 sizes: 8"x10", 12"x15", 16"x20".
