Evergreen, fuzzy leaves with rounded lobes are quite showy, and the large golden-yellow flowers bloom from late spring to late summer! (Not for the petting zoo — the fine hairs can be an irritant.) 'Ken Taylor' grows naturally into a large shrub that can be pruned to maintain a somewhat smaller size. It is perhaps a bit hardier than the species. This smaller hybrid was created by Ken Taylor of Aromas, California and is thought to be a cross of Fremontodendron californica ssp. decumbens and Fremontodendron 'California Glory'. Evergreen shrub; mature size: 4-6 ft T x 8-10 ft W Minimum temperature: 0° F
