Discovered by Roman Ganklin and W. Richard Hildreth; 'Sunset' develops red-purple-brown shaggy bark as it matures and the rounded green leaves that begin life as coppery-orange buds. This naturally occuring hybrid, discovered near Prunedale in Monterey County, involved A. pajaroensis and A. hookeri and has pinkish-white urn-shaped flowers that are unexpectedly lovely in combination with the new leaves. One of our favorites! Mature size: 6 ft T x 6 ft W Minimum temperature: 0° F
