My Norwegian postcard stacker rings mark some of my best memories of Norway in the summer. A goat herder passed his flock past my window early every morning and I was greeted by a symphony of bells and the high heeled clicks of dancing goats on their way to pasture. Traditional cabins high in the mountains are backed by green forests and the vistas are the stuff of fairy tales. To honor the rich tradition of the old ways I’ve included a “primstav” stacker ring. The primstav was an ancient calendar system used to mark seasonal planting, feasting and holidays with certain symbols.
