Artist: Jody Sachs, MarylandMaterials: sterling silver, brass, copperSize: 7 Artist Statement: As a metalsmith artist, I draw my inspiration from nature and my surroundings when I go on long walks every day. Sometimes it is the leaves and trees, other times the plants and flowers. I like forming metal by hand in silver and gold, copper, and brass, transforming them into literally botanical objects creating textures and patterns in metal. I am inspired by the beauty of plant and flower forms, textures, shapes, and patterns.Artist Bio: I am past President of the Washington Guild of Goldsmiths (WGG) 2018-2020 and served both on the WGG and Creative Craft Council (CCC) Boards from 2017-2020.
