This is a Post-Modern Rectangular Console Table in Birdseye Maple Plywood, designed by Denise Scott Brown and Robert Venturi for Knoll in 1984. The silhouette features stylized flat Cabriole legs, a tongue-in-cheek abstraction of the more formal Louis XV design. The duo worked with the Knoll Design Director Jeffrey Osborne for over five years, seeking to create a series of tables and chairs that were suggestive of classical forms, having flat profiles in decorative shapes. The tables from the 1984 collection are not commonly seen in the marketplace, as very few were produced. This piece measures 24 inches deep, 83 inches wide, and 29 inches high. The table shows some wear from use. Overall, this piece is in very good vintage condition. Please see photos.
