Description The SIP Large Button Outdoor Intercom delivers two-way communication and secure access control for your VoIP phone system. The call button's large, easy-to-activate design makes it ideal for settings such as entry to medical facilities or assisted living residences where the user’s dexterity to ensure a precise contact with the button is limited – especially in emergency situations where time is critical. The “easy press” is also optimal for drive-up entry to secure areas such as parking garages, warehouses, storage facilities, shipyards or other industrial environments where security is paramount. CyberData’s SIP-enabled VoIP products are compatible with a vast majority of VoIP systems including SBCs, Gateways, and phone systems both on-premise or cloud-based. FAQs How loud is the speaker on the Intercom? The average Intercom volume level is 9 SPL using the standard 1KHz test tone normalized at 0dB and yields 93dB output at 1 meter. How do I update my firmware? Go to the Downloads tab, click on the serial number range matching your device and download the firmware compatible with it. To update the firmware, unzip the file and log in to the web GUI for the device you are trying to upgrade. Navigate to the Firmware tab and browse for the firmware file you just downloaded. Select and upload that file. Do not reboot, the device will do it for you. For more information, please check your product’s Operations Guide, also available under the Downloads tab. PLEASE NOTE: Firmware is not backwards compatible for V3 devices. If you are downgrading or trying to update a pre-V3 device, please contact CyberData’s Technical Support Department first to ensure the device does not get damaged. We also recommend you export a copy of your current configuration BEFORE updating, should a loss of power or another issue occur that would potentially lose your settings. Is earth ground installation required for this CyberData product? Using ground cable is necessary to minimize the risks to both people and equipment from electrical hazards such as direct lightning strikes, voltage spikes, ESD and EMF induced surges, or PoE overvoltage by providing a low impedance path from the intercom to the earth. The CyberData product is meant to be connected to a grounding/earthing rod/bar/busbar. The shorter the path to ground/earth the better. Please note that CyberData recommends that installation grounding/earthing connections be made by certified contractors/electricians who know the electrical codes applying to the customer's area. How can I prevent water or weather damage to the device if it is in a vulnerable location? Refer to “Connecting and Sealing the SIP Outdoor Intercom” on the Intercom Quick Reference Placemat. Is this device compatible with my service provider or IP-PBX server? CyberData VoIP products are compatible with IP-PBX servers that support standard SIP protocol. You can find a full list of IP-PBX servers that CyberData products have been validated on by going to Connecting to Compatible IP-PBX Servers. If you do not see your IP-PBX on this list, feel free to contact CyberData’s Technical Support Department for more information. What is multicast? IP multicast is a technique for one-to-many communication over a local IP network. IGMP multicast is sent via UDP packets from a multicast server to a multicast receiver. This stream scales to a larger receiver population by not requiring prior knowledge of who or how many receivers there are. Multicast uses network infrastructure efficiently by requiring the source to send a packet only once, even if it needs to be delivered to many receivers. The network replicates the packet in order to reach multiple receivers only when necessary. Multicast is a great alternative to SIP registration as it does not require that the recipient of the stream to register as an extension on an IP-PBX server. CyberData products support both regular IGMP multicast as well as proprietary Polycom Group Paging. Which IP Phones do you recommend for setting up a Peer to Peer SIP call with this device? See SIP Point-To-Point Configuration For additional support or answers to questions not covered on this page, who should I contact? CyberData’s Technical Support Department What type of relay does the intercom have? CyberData's line of intercoms have a normally open, temporarily closed style relay for use with most door strikes. If the inverse, normally closed temporarily open, is required please use one of CyberData's Door Strike Relay accessory products. What is the maximum rating for the intercom's relay? CyberData Intercoms onboard relays are rated up to 1 amp at 30 volt DC. Is the circuit board on the intercom IP rated? The circuit boards in CyberData's intercoms are not IP rated and rely on the IP rating of their enclosure to protect the board.
