Synthetic polymers are used to control scale in cooling water systems. A protocol consisting of laboratory and pilot cooling tower techniques along with field trial were used to evaluate the effectiveness of several established water polymers for the prevention of scale in stressed conditions. These technologies demonstrated that a novel polymer exhibits superior performance in stressed conditions environment.
