This unique cluster is Albite var. cleavelandite with Mica and Black Tourmaline. Tabular formations of Albite with Mica and Black Tourmaline inbedded in the Albite. Measurements are about 13 x 8 x x 3.3 inches. Weighs 11 lbs. Albite is a plagioclase feldspar mineral. Cleavelandite, a tabular, plated variety of Albite has thin, ultra pale, tabular sheets which are sometimes interspersed with other minerals such as Mica, Lepidolite or Tourmaline. Named in 1823 by Henry J. Brooke in honor of Parker Cleaveland, professor of geology and mineralogy at Bowdoin College in Maine 1805-1858.
