Unlike most sabers, Darksabers don't have a traditional cylindrical shape. The hilt is fashioned like an old school vibroblade, complete with a crossguard. No doubt this design is intentional considering the origin of the man behind the construction of the original Darksaber. The crossguard on this saber features a cortosis weave which enables it to catch a lightsaber blade. This offers excellent protection for the hand. However, this also means the crossguard has right angles, so a little care must be made while wielding it so you don't scratch yourself on a corner.
