I shot this in the rain with my little brother, who came along for the ride. He lived there at the time, and it was the first time I got to take him on a shoot. I developed the "magazine and cloth" method on this cold rainy night. I rolled up a magazine and held it up, curved, over the lens like an umbrella. It's a very small margin for error on the placement, too close to the lens and it shows up in the picture, too far, and raindrops fall on the lens and blur everything. With clever placement of this magazine, and a dry, clean cloth in my coat pocket to wipe away the rain, the second a spot appears in the image, this allowed me to shoot it the pouring rain!
