Founded in 1898, Ardmore is one of Scotland's more versatile distilliries, in that it produces both a peated-and unpeated-single malt. The peated style tends to deliver a distinctly smoky-rather than medical- flavor profile. This 2008 vintage has aromas of a smoky malt: dry, smoky campfire explodes on the palate; yet through maturation it has developed fine depth of characted, subtle vanilla bean arrives with a pleasant and coating texture.
