Folded Steel Wakizashi SL1230 is a wakizashi and another in Coolkatana's catalog of swords where the blade is specially-folded during the forging process to produce a hada with a beautiful, random, feathery pattern. The fittings are all made of brass. The tsuba, fuchi and kashira have a flower and shishi (lion-dog) theme with gold and silver color. The seppa and habaki are chrome-plated brass. The tsuka has black, rayskin panels and wrapped with brown, synthetic silk in hinerinaki style. The saya is made of light-colored wood with visible grains and the koiguchi is made of polished, bufallo horn. The sageo is black, synthetic silk with brown color pattern. Wakizashi are considered a samurai's side arm and supplemental weapon. It is effective weapon when fighting in confined spaces as typical Japanese dwellings had low ceiling.
