Advent Calendar: Tomte with Illuminated Window

This Advent Calendar, from our Nordic Tomten Collection by artist Eva Melhuish, stands apart from the others in the collection, which mostly are deep shades of nighttime blue: this one is all red and warm colors, as our friendly Tomte carries a parcel past a brightly illuminated window. So beautiful! Tomten are old characters from Norse folklore; they are small helpers who live near farms and homes... a bit of a house gnome and a bit of Santa Claus combined. Brightened with just a hint of silvery glitter. Made in Germany by the Korsch Verlag Company; they began making Advent Calendars in Munich in 1951. About 12" x 8 1/2".   10502
