
Beginners Sewing Course: May 29 - June 19, 2025
This is a 4-week introductory sewing course that will be held in our sewing area at Community on Thursday evenings with a maximum class size of 6 students. Students will learn to be proficient with their sewing machine; how to wind a bobbin, how to thread the machine, adjust tension, and general machine troubleshooting. Students will be gain understanding in woven fabrics, will learn to be consistent in stitch quality and seam allowance, be familiar with how to handle fabric while constructing a garment, and learn sewing and fabric vocabulary. By the end of this course you will have made a cropped tank top from one of Community's own patterns. Supplies are not included in the price of the course. **You are responsible for bringing your own sewing machine and supplies.** You will receive a supply list from the instructor at least five days before the course begins.
