The Sopwith F.1 Camel was one of the most iconic aircraft of World War I and is credited with shooting down more enemy aircraft than any other Allied aircraft type of the war. This display includes a very rare 1 x 5-inch cross section of spruce cabane wing strut from a Camel, built and stamped in March 1918. . This cross section is paired with Ron Cole's original artwork of this aircraft, depicted in the markings of Australian pilot Captain Arthur Cobby, 4 Squadron, Australian Flying Corps, mid-1918. .
