
Clove Essential Oil
Clove has been used for years in dental preparations, candy, and gum for its flavor and ability to cleanse the mouth, yet it provides a myriad of benefits. Its main chemical component, eugenol, is a strong anesthetic and works as an antiseptic to fight bacteria that may cause infections. That is why cloves are so effective at fighting cavities and are often added to oral products such as toothpaste and mouthwash. Extraction Method: Steam distilled Uses: Add 1 Clove oil drop to toothpaste to clean teeth and gums. Clove does burn. Place 1 drop in 2 ounces of water and gargle to kill bacteria and other yukies. Precautions: Avoid while pregnant and in liver and kidney conditions. May cause skin irritation. Keep all essential oils out of reach of children. Consult your physician while pregnant or under doctor's care. As with all essential oils, never use them undiluted, in eyes or mucus membranes.
