In 1980, in the Provence area of France, he was restoring an olive wood table when he discovered the natural beauty of this richly grained wood and its intense aroma of freshly pressed green olives. Noticing the robustness of the olive wood and the natural flavor of olive oil that the wood contains, Michel developed his first line of kitchen utensils with the help of skilled olive wood artisans.
