100% Pure Castile Soap Unscented

History in a bar: Castile soap dates back to the Levant area of the Eastern Mediterranean now present day Lebanon, Jordan, Israel and other surrounding countries, where this hard soap has been made with 100% Olive Oil for millennia.  Before Castile, soap bars were often green in color due to the olive oil and laurel oils that were often used together.  Aging soap:  The natural method of crafting Castile Soap produced what was probably the first hard white soap bar in history.  Most bars of soap that we make age for a  minimum of 4-6 weeks but Castile soap must age for a minimum of 3 months.  However, it continues to harden as it is aged.  It does so, without losing its white color.  Our Castile soap is a minimum of 4 months old.  This makes for a longer lasting bar as well.  Gentle: While everyone is different and there are many skin types, Castile soap is known to be gentle and can be used on most every skin type.  People who use Castile soap for the first time often become life long converts, seeking it out  when they cannot find it locally.   Due to the high amount of olive oil, (you can't get more then 100%), It is especially mild and nourishing. I superfat my Castile soap which means that some of the oils are left in tact as they do not saponify with the lye.  This makes the bar even more nourishing and it really feels like no other soap.  Sensitive Skin: Using Castile soap regularly may help to retain moisture in those with particularly dry or sensitive skin.  Some people who have sensitive skin may also have scent allergies which is why we make Castile in both scented and unscented. This particular product is unscented.   How it feels to wash with a bar of Castile: Let me explain what I mean.  When I wet my hands and begin to lather up I immediately notice how nourishing the soap feels.  The natural feel of the olive oil in conjunction with the silky feel of the bar create a luxurious and creamy lather.  However, it's really upon drying off my hands that the difference is felt.   As my hands dry there is a certain moisture that is left behind, more so with Castile then other bars.  Some have described it as a lotion-like feel.  I recommend to people using Castile for the first time, to allow your hands to naturally dry and the moisture to fully absorb.  Properties:  Soaps made with olive oil have a very clean and buttery feel.  Olive Oil produces an extra mild and gentle soap that contains antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.  Our olive oil is virgin oil, this means that it is made from the first pressing of the olive fruit.  We start with excellent food pure grade olive oil to make all of our soaps.  Ingredients:  Saponified 100% Olive Oil, Distilled Water, Sodium Hydroxide and Rosemary Oleoresin Extract (ROE).
