Let's embroider with yarn and make a squishy coaster or wall hanging! Punch Needling (also called Needle Punching) is the hand-operated cousin to rug tufting, which uses electric guns instead of a small wooden tool. Punch Needling is a great intro to rug making. In this workshop you'll learn the basics, as well as how to avoid and fix common mistakes. PROJECTA coaster or wall hanging. REQUIRED EXPERIENCENone! You don't need any craft experience to take this class. Must be 9 years or older. REQUIRED MATERIALS - available for purchase at the shopA punch needle good for worsted weight yarn, threading wire, darning needle, and either an embroidery hoop & monk's cloth, or a stretched fabric frame for punch needling. We will be discussing the pros and cons of the various tools & materials available during class, so there is no need to purchase materials ahead of time. We will provide pencils for drawing out your design, and yarn for use during the workshop. Additional yarn to take home is available for purchase in small bits.
