Solanum linearifolium [selected hardier strain]

Unusual shrub from SE Australia found on coastal ranges, river gorges, and forest margins. Long, evergreen, narrow foliage bears purple flowers and, eventually, orange to yellow egg-shaped fruit. Makes a striking garden addition in part sun to shade with regular summer water. Grows to 6ft or higher, but easily pruned.
