Limited edition of 100, each one signed & numbered. “Geode No. 1” was originally an illustration (series of 3) that I made in watercolor paint and metallic paint marker depicting imagined-mineralogy for a geode themed client mural! Minerals have fascinated me since childhood, and I wanted to convey the mesmerizing, mysterious nature of geodes through every line & detail without making it recognizable as any real mineral. The shiny copper foil is pressed into every spot that I originally drew with copper paint, so it's even shinier than the original! It catches some light even in a dark corner of the room.
