The36 x 24 x 1.5 inchtop is made from laminated hard rock maple and includes a 12 inch drop leaf to extend the length to a full 48 inches.An included knife holder provides quick access to your chefs knives while the blade shield prevents exposing of sharp edges. If that wasn't enough for the busy chef, two towel pegs provide convenient access for hand drying, while a 15 inch utensil drawer is great for storing common tools. Plus, an electric outlet strip is mounted to the side of the table, for easy hooking up of kitchen appliances such as blenders or mixers. The maple top is protected and finished from the factory with Boos board cream. We recommend additional application of cutting board oil or board cream every 3 to 4 weeks, to prevent wood from over drying and collecting mois
