Master Yu Zisha Teapot #004

The gourd-shaped zisha teapot is made by Yu, a free potter based in Jingdezhen (check here to learn more about Yu). It features the textured surface ,formed with zini (purple-red-brown clay mined from Yixing) primarily and brushed with the slurry the same clay , making the teapot feel uneven in hand. The overall design zisha clay gives the teapot stylish and elegant appearance , allowing it to stand out from currently overwhelming zisha teapots in the market. The teapot holds approximately 120ml of liquid with multi-holes ball filter, making it suitable for a small tea session, specially for solo tea brewing. Expertly connected into body of pot, the spout is able to embrace smooth pour and sharp stop of pour without drips. As the teapot is formed by throwing instead of slab-building  like most of yixing zisha teapots, it has a more porous texture, allowing to absorb tea and create patina more quickly.  Please note the teapot is not glazed on the inside , we suggest the user of the te
