A power inserter is used to back feed power to the preamplifier/distribution amplifier through one of the RF output ports. This allows the preamplifier/distribution amplifier to be mounted at a location where power is not available. Replacement power supply for Channel Master pre-amplifiers and distribution amplifiers. This power inserter is compatible with models, CM-7777v3, CM-7778v3, CM-7778HD, CM-3410, CM-3412, CM-3414 and CM-3418, CM-3411, CM-3422, CM-3424, and CM-3428. The output port that is used to back feed power is usually marked as RF Out/DC In or something similar. It is important that if the power inserter is used that it is installed correctly. The 7777XPI power inserter has markings on the label to show the correct way to connect the cables. The side marked “To Amp” should never be connected to the TV.
