
2020 Poderi Sanguineto 1 &2 Rosso Toscano Sangiovese
From: Tuscany, ItalyVarietal: 100% Prugnolo Gentile (Sangiovese) Taste: This red from Montepulciano (area, not grape) is a rarity for a few reasons, but the most notable thing about this wine that you’ll note right away is its gorgeous, friendly fruit and body. This wine is not shy. Rounded red fruits, sweet spices, subtle florals, and rounded tannins meet in a medium-bodied powerhouse. While the fruit here is youthful and exuberant, it’s so well-balanced and well-made that it’ll impress multiple palates, including the difficult ones! Pairing: You’ve got a lot of pairing options with this wine, so I’ll start by briefly noting things it won’t pair super well with: oysters, mussels, sushi, Thai, Japanese or Vietnamese cuisine, and white fish like flounder. Some ideal pairing combinations that will work wonderfully include pizza, pasta, mushrooms (check out the recipe below), risotto, sausage, roast chicken, eggplant, lamb, weeknight steaks, dishes that have a Mediterranean flare to them,
