Mekara’s Twirl, originally written for two Clarinet Duet, was inspired by watching his youngest daughter, November playing with their handsome family dog, Hobbs.  They both were running and copying each other that end with a twirl that made all family members laugh.  The piece started with each voice imitating and copying each other, eventually transformed into the same identical rhythmic pattern till the end of the piece.
