Member's Mark Omeprazole Delayed Release Tablets 20 mg work differently from other heartburn products, such as antacids. The active ingredient is omeprazole 20 mg, an acid reducer and proton pump inhibitor, which stops acid production at the source - the acid pump that produces stomach acid. Use once a day (every 24 hours), every day for 14 days. These tablets may take 1 to 4 days for full effect, although some people get complete relief of symptoms within 24 hours. Make sure you take the entire 14 days of dosing to treat your frequent heartburn. This product is for adults (18 years and older) with frequent heartburn -when you have heartburn 2 or more days a week. Children under 18 years of age: ask a doctor.
