SYLVANUS ESTATE “THE HOME BLOCK” YAMHILL-CARLTON PINOT NOIR 2017  Barrels selected for this wine include Pommard, 777 and 115/Mt. Eden (co-ferment) clones in equal measure. No whole-cluster used. 66% new French oak supports the fruit-driven approach to this bottling, with subtle structure imparted through French cooperages renowned for restraint and elegance (Aetelier, Ermitage). Named for our first planted acreage on Sylvanus Estate, The Home Block offers a counter-point to the tannic spiciness of The Cipher. The Home Block showcases black fruit, with ripe aromatics that give way to classic pinot noir characteristics of earthiness and soft, silky tannins. Cellar for 2 to 10+ years.
