Fields of Gold is a 12x12 x 1.75 inch original mixed media painting on canvas. This painting is inspired by the 1993 song of the same title by Sting. Colors are golds, greens and pale blues inspired by the song's lyrics. Before painting each song, I close my eyes and listen to the music. Usually an image emerges that inspires me, and I try to capture it in paint. For this piece, I immediately saw a field of yellow flowers set against a summer sky. Flowers included are bright yellow daisies a small zinnia, and other happy blooms. Mixed media include: sheet music from the song, tissue paper, book pages, a bookmark from India and handmade Nepalese paper. Signed & titled on reverse and fitted with wire to hang on the wall without a frame.
