Catch 49's jig-caught rockfish is harvested each spring in the Gulf of Alaska off Kodiak Island. Dark, dusky, and black rockfish are harvested by Kodiak resident fisherman Chris Johnson, F/V North Star via hand tended hook and line method, one of the most efficient and artisanal ways of catching this delicious pelagic species.  Features: Caught in Gulf of Alaska waters off Kodiak Island with jig (hook and line) gear. Species will be black, dusky, and/or dark rockfish. All have a similar flavor profile and are pelagic species of rockfish that school together. Each vacuum-packed pouch holds 1-3 fillets with a total weight of 1 - 1.5 pounds. Frozen, vacuum-sealed, boneless, skin-off fillets. Sold in 10-pound shares.
