Comprising 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Sangiovese, and 20% Syrah, Banfi Summus aka "Baby Sassicaia" showcases the exceptional qualities of its three varietals. With abundant winter rainfall and a typical vegetative phase, the vines thrived in the ideal conditions of the 2019 vintage.  The wine boasts a deep, intense color and a complex bouquet of youthful fruit, jam, spices, tobacco, and coffee. The strong structure and sweet tannins make for a long-lasting and satisfying finish. Recommended for pairing with rich, savory first courses and hearty meats.  Score  92 points, James Suckling
