In 2009 when my youngest daughter was 13 she was reading the "Twilight" books, I thought I would read them along with her.  The idea of vampires was on my mind the February morning I went out photographing with a favorite model friend, and another local photographer ( I rarely do this but this day was an exception).  I had been thinking about the idea that vampires were probably around, figuratively it did not seem like that much of a stretch. There was a light dusting of snow and we found this labyrinth someone had made out of stones. A sign.  I realized the other photographer with his long hair and beautiful face, dressed in black, would play the role of a dark figure in the background.  Said, vampire.  The model has arrived dressed as you see her and the narrative was perfect, it felt like pure serendipity. This hand-pulled polymer photogravure print is made with Gamblin Portland Black and a touch of Charbonnel Sanguine ink on Rives BFK paper. I used a chine collé of Awagami Kitakata because I love the look. I decided on an edition of 9 numbered prints and 3 A/P prints.   Hand made by Ray Bidegain Limited edition of 9 6 x 7.5 on an 11x15 sheet. Signed numbered and dated by the artist on the lower front.
